Frequently Asked Questions

What type of boarding do you provide?

We provide an at-home boarding experience for your doggie that is less stressful than your typical kennel. They receive lots of one-on-one human attention, and have plenty of playtime! Our goal is to ensure they are comfortable, safe, and provided with lots of attention and love.

What are your requirements for boarding dogs?

They must be dog and human-friendly, and up to date with vaccines.

Will my pet be unsupervised or left alone?

We are both home full-time and pups usually always have a huamn. The most we would be gone is 1-3 hours if we need to run an urgent errand. Typically, one of us will always be at home.

How do I initiate the process for boarding?

To get started, fill out our new client intake form (click here), which will allow you to enter all the essential information about your pet and request services. After completing the form, the submission page will ask if you want to schedule a Meet & Greet. We do require a meet & greet for new clients. Additionally, we require a trial night for stays longer than four days, and it would be scheduled after attending the Meet & Greet.

Do you provide a "Meet & Greet" prior to boarding?

Yes! We'd love to meet you and your pup! After submitting the new client intake form, you will be re-directed to schedule a Meet & Greet. Here is the direct link (click here) to book the Meet & Greet

Can we meet your dog during the Meet & Greet?

Yes! You and your dog will get to meet our Bella during the Meet & Greet. She's a very sweet Golden Retriever who loves all dogs and humans!

How do you conduct your Meet & Greets?

We conduct our Meet & Greets in our yard, and once inside our yard, we will ask you to leave your dog off-leash. Some dogs can be protective when on a leash, especially when their parents are around. Being off-leash allows dogs not to be "on guard" and be more comfortable. They are free to roam and explore our backyard. Dogs love exploring and sniffing, and this helps to break the ice. Therefore, for the first few minutes of the M&G, we let your dog roam without Bella. After they sniff around and get more comfortable, we will approach your pup and introduce ourselves. Some pups are a bit shy, and we do not force ourselves on them. Instead, we allow them to come to us. Once they are comfortable, we bring Bella out to meet your pup!

Can I see the inside of your home?

Yes, via FaceTime or Zoom only and we can also send pictures. We do not allow pet parents inside home for liability reasons. It also disrupts our boarders, and some do not do well with new people.

My pet has never been boarded. What do you recommend?

For first-time boarders, we recommend doing an overngitht trial before booking your stay.

Overall, you will book a night to leave your dog with us, and we will let you know how they behaved. For the most part, it is normal for some pups to be initially nervous or anxious when in a new environment, and they need a few hours to relax and unwind. Allowing them to sleep over, helps them get to know us, and also, we can assess your dog's temperament while away from home.

Where will my pet sleep?

Wherever they want. We want them to have the same routine they have at home with us. For example, if your pet is used to sleeping in your bedroom, we will let them sleep in our bedroom as well! This is part of our entire boarding experience :) We want to make sure your pet has the same environment you provide at home.

Do I need to bring my pet's bed?

No, it is optional. We have plenty of dog beds and blankets. If you decide to bring your own dog's bed/blankets, please bring some that are not super valuable. Sometimes the pups play, and things might get torned!!

Will you crate my pet, and do I need to bring a crate?

No, we provide a crate-free home and do not require your pet to be in a crate. However, if your pet enjoys their crate, please bring it to make sure they are comfortable. We have some extra crates, but they are more on the smaller end and mid-size end (the largest is 36L X 23).

Do you have a list of items to bring for boarding?

Absolutely! We have pre-boarding instructions that include a list of items to bring. Here is the direct link (click here)

Do I need to bring my own pet's food/treats?

Yes. For the benefit of your pet, we recommend you bring their own food, as this helps prevent upset stomachs.

Additionally, please bring enough food for the entire stay- if possible, bring extra food! You never know if your trip may have an unexpected delay in return. Also, dogs tend to be extra active while boarding, and additional calories might be needed!

To ensure enough food for your pet's stay, you can pre-measure and pre-mark their food zip lock baggies or bring the entire food bag or a large container that holds enough food for their stay.

If your dog is a picky eater and you suspect they may not eat their food during their stay, you can bring some wet food/toppers to make their meal extra enticing… a hungry dog is not a happy dog.

What happens if I accidentally forget to bring my pet's food?

If food runs out or you accidentally forget to bring food, we can always pick it up on your behalf for a $10 extra surcharge for driving/picking up, etc.

Alternatively, you can order the food directly online and have it shipped to our home. Amazon, Petco, Chewy will usually deliver the next day.

Also, if you want to drop off your dog first and then go buy the food yourself, that's perfectly fine as well.

Do I need to bring my pet's dishes/bowls?

No need! We have plenty of food and water dishes/bowls; you may leave your pet's dishes/bowls at home.

Do you separate dogs when feeding them?

Yes, we separrate dogs when feeding them. Some dogs have food allergies/sensitivities and we would not have food aggression and do not like other dogs to be nearby when eating. For everyone's safety, we feed each dog separately and individually.

Do you give your own treats to dogs?

We do not feed our own treats to your pet unless we have your written authorization (part of our new client intake form). Some dogs have food allergies and sensitive tummies, and for the most part, if you provide treats, we will only feed them the treats you provide.

If my pet takes medication, will you administer it for them?

Absolutely! If your dog takes medication, please make sure to bring it and provide instructions on administering it and how often.

Additionally, if your dog takes medication on an "as needed" basis - such as anxiety meds or ear medication in case they develop an ear infection, please bring that as well.

Do I need to bring toys for my pet?

No need! We have plenty of dog toys (all different types) and can supply your pet with toys. If you decide to bring toys, please bring toys that are not super valuable. Sometimes toys get taken into the yard/chewed. We cannot guarantee the items won't fall into the grip of another dog during playtime!

Will you provide photos and updates of my pet's stay?

Absolutely! We send daily updates with photos!

Will my pet be allowed on furniture?

Yes! Dogs are allowed in our furniture.

How many potty breaks will my pet get?

We provide potty breaks every 2-3 hours.

When is payment due?

Full payment is due in order to confirm your booking and prior to your dog's stay, and we will send you an invoice.

What is your cancellation policy?

Full refund if stay is cancelled 3 days before their start of their stay. A fifty percent refund if cancelled in less than 3 days from start of stay.

Do you have pet sitter insurance ?

Yes, we are fully insured by Pet Care Affiliates, LLC and can provide proof of insurance if requested.
